Vancouver Story Slam is your local story night filled with Story Tellers and Comedians trying to win the best story of the night. Every 2nd Tuesday 10 people head up on stage and tell their story while judges rate them out of 10. They are also timed and must try to do a show as close to 5 minutes without going over to win a prize. The best story teller moves onto the semi finals held at the end of the year.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the show on the 23rd, so really I have no idea what happened. But wurd on the m/f honky street is that Clint Wilson did a brilliant job of hosting. Rumour has it that he was helped by a sprinkling of magical pixie dust; an ample turnout, and full compliment of storytellers all bristling to do their exotic mating ritual.
That nice, but mad old bloke who chucks his coffee around as he tells his story turned up, and if you don't know who I mean; he's the chap who always steps onstage with a cup of coffee in his hand. In November he came down to the finals and contributed an extra set of prizes: three bars of chocolate and three bags of.. you guessed it, coffee!
The same rumour also spoke of a tie for second place between uber-fireman Bryant Ross and fellow 2005 regular, Bill McNamarra; with first place going to the Kingsway Queen of Goth-lit, Sue Cormier. I don't know who came in third, and for that I can only apologise, as my source was drowned out by the sound of a 1989 Cutlass Cierra being crushed in the background.
